A Masjid That Raised Generations | Muslims in the Caribbean | Remarkable Stories | Nouman Ali Khan
وصف المقطع
In recent years, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan visited a wonderful Muslim community in the Caribbean - specifically in Trinidad and Tobago. After interviewing the leadership team and some standout, inspiring members of the community, what stuck with Ustadh Nouman was how the masjid he visited felt more like a village. A masjid should not be a place children are dragged to. It should become the place they drag their parents to. At San Fernando Jamia Masjid in Trinidad and Tobago, that idea has been built into the life of the community. Children are given room to feel at home, young people are trusted with responsibility, women are given real space to contribute and families experience the masjid as part of their everyday life rather than somewhere they only visit for salah. That is what makes a community last. The children running around today may become the people leading the masjid tomorrow. The sisters helping organize programs may be the reason entire families remain connected. A small Quran circle can turn one person’s learning into something an entire group grows from. Even something as simple as making space for children to play can change whether they associate the masjid with warmth or with being constantly told to sit down and stay quiet. There is a simple principle underneath all of it: if we do not invest in our youth, someone else will. A masjid is not only meant to preserve a building. It is meant to raise people who feel responsible for what happens inside it long after the previous generation is gone. That is how a community becomes an inheritance. My board exam results will be released tomorrow, the 31st. On this day of Jumu'ah, please keep me in your prayers so that I may pass and achieve a good result. Ameen.
May Allah protect Trinidad 🇹🇹 and Tobago and allow Islam to continue to reach the hearts and minds positively Ameen
Alhamdulillah..
The masjid is a place our children should grow up going to, not a place they only think to run to when they get older and life becomes difficult. We should teach them from a young age to build a relationship with Allah, so that the masjid becomes a part of their lives, not just a last resort when they need help. 🤍🕌
Salaam Alaikum Sir. We've been following you from Indonesia to Australia, all the way to the Careabbeans. No word is enough to thank you for the tremendous sacrifices you lavish for the Ummah. May ALLAH SWA reward you with Grace & Bliss. Ameen
